Delivery & transport
We’ll get it there.
From our Honeydew yard to anywhere in South Africa or the rest of Africa, with stock units usually on the road in about 2-3 working days. And before a truck leaves, we check your site with you, so delivery day holds no surprises.

Before dispatch · Site check
Will the truck fit?
The question behind every delivery. Before a container leaves our yard, we run through your site with you on the phone. Six questions, ten minutes. None of it is homework; it’s a conversation. If anything on the list is a problem, we’d rather solve it before the truck leaves than at your gate.
- 01
Can a long vehicle reach the drop point?
A truck carrying a container is a big rig. We'll ask about gate widths, narrow lanes, low bridges and sharp turns on the approach, because those are the things that stop a delivery a hundred metres from where it's meant to end.
- 02
What's overhead?
Power lines, telephone cables, tree branches, carports, eaves. Anything hanging over the spot where the truck stops and the container comes off needs to be talked about before the truck leaves, not discovered under it.
- 03
Is there room to turn?
Turning circle or a straight reverse in. Either works. The driver just needs to know which one it is before arrival, so we'll walk the route in and out with you on the phone.
- 04
Is the ground firm and level?
A container is a heavy steel box, and it stays where it's put for a long time. Soft lawn, fresh fill and sloping ground are the usual culprits, especially after rain. Firm, reasonably level ground makes a clean placement.
- 05
How does it come off the truck?
Craned off, set down from the side, or slid off a tilting bed. What suits your site depends on the space around the drop point. We'll agree the offload method with you before dispatch and send the right vehicle for it.
- 06
Who's on site on the day?
Someone to open the gate, a clear drop point, and a decision already made about which way the doors face. With those three sorted, the offload itself takes minutes.

Delivery questions
Asked before the truck rolls.
Does A&A Containers deliver containers?
Yes. We deliver from our Honeydew yard in Gauteng right across South Africa and the rest of Africa, wherever it needs to go. Tell us the destination and we'll sort the transport at a competitive rate. Prefer to handle it yourself? You're welcome to collect from our yard.
How much does delivery cost?
Transport is priced on where your container is headed, so we keep it competitive and honest. Give us the destination and we'll quote you. No surprises. You can also collect from Honeydew to save on transport.
What do I need to have ready on site before delivery?
Nothing on paper, just answers. Before dispatch we'll run through your site with you: the approach for a long vehicle, overhead clearance, turning room, firm level ground, how the unit comes off the truck, and who'll be on site on the day. It's a ten-minute phone conversation, and it means the truck fits first time.
Can I collect my container myself?
Absolutely. You're welcome to collect your unit from our Honeydew yard (9B Ridge Road, Laser Park) if that works better for you. Just let us know and we'll have it ready.
How quickly can a container be delivered?
Standard stock units are usually delivered in about 2-3 working days from our Honeydew yard. For converted and custom builds the timing depends on the project, so talk to us and we'll give you a realistic date.
Do you deliver outside South Africa?
We do. With 35+ years moving containers across the UK, South Africa and the rest of Africa, we can help get your unit where it needs to go. Tell us the destination and we'll talk you through the options.
